Custom 100' Cedar Fence—NE Bend, OR
The original fence separating our client’s house from their neighbor’s was pretty well in shambles and offered inadequate privacy between the two properties. Rather than install a similar design that would easily weather away in Bend’s harsh high-desert climate, the client desired something more robust and contemporary to add both a higher resale value to the home and a more pleasant design to surround themselves by. The fence design was fashioned by one of PCC’s team members with slight changes added during construction for additional weather-proofing.
A mini excavator rental was required for this project.
Once the old fence had been demolished and removed, additional rock and old concrete footings had to be removed.
Once footings had been poured with posts in place, snap lines are placed to ensure a level beginning.
Summer project means all family hands on deck.
Inspector Digby-dog ensuring all is running smoothly.
Since the client's property is higher than their neighbor's, additional horizontal two-by-fours were added above the base boards to secure the land and prevent it from wreaking havoc on the bottom portion of the fence.
Detail: Our solution to protect the lattice connections for maximum protection against the elements. A jig was created and used to ensure consistency and save time.
This is how the jig works... 1. Place the pre-cut blocks in the premade jig.
2. Secure the blocks to a pre-cut backing.
3. Remove the form from the jig.
4. The form is set to our lattice specifications, thanks to the jig.
5. Example of how the form works to accept our custom lattice—1

7. Work smarter, not harder... Oh yeah!
